NORTH CAROLINA?

O.K., so it’s not in Virginia!

The VIRGINIA SHOPPER has been off and running and just this once HAD to feature something very very special – AN ONLINE AUCTION to support The North Carolina Botanical Garden!  Well, North Carolina’s not really that far away – right?  Here’s the scoop:

THE AUCTION

THE EVENT

The North Carolina Botanical Garden’s first—and fabulous!—Carolina Moonlight Gala is coming up, Saturday, June 2. Join us for a delightful party under a Carolina full moon to celebrate the Garden’s contribution to sustainable living through its mission to “advance a sustainable relationship between people and nature.” Our new LEED Platinum building and landscape is the site of this celebration, and our conservation, horticulture, and education efforts will be supported by the gala proceeds.

WHY THIS GARDEN?

First, it’s absolutely beautiful!  And then there are all the phenomenal programs offered to the public, the educational experiences, programs for young and old, information dissemination, exhibits, tours, gardening tips.  The list is so long it would be impossible to include everything here.   Want to know more about The North Carolina Botanical Garden?  Be sure to visit http://ncbg.unc.edu/ .

As part of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the North Carolina Botanical Garden is a leader in native plant conservation and education in the Southeastern United States, and has been for over 40 years.

Their mission is “To inspire understanding, appreciation, and conservation of plants in gardens and natural areas and to advance a sustainable relationship between people and nature.”   These gardens in Chapel Hill, NC are absolutely phenomenal!

I promise – The VIRGINIA SHOPPER will be back in Virginia SOON!
